The developers will process 69,100 litres of 💩 weekly from the Cheese and Butter (C&B) Factory & 40 cabins positioned on farming land. That is a whole lot of 💩, pumped from the C&B Factory to the farm paddocks in the East, to "unlock the wastewater challenge". These farm lands will now be used for processing 💩. Also, the 💩 that will be pumped from the C&BF will be RAW -  completely untreated.  Raw sewage pumped across Foster Creek 400 m to be treated. The developers don't want to process the poo on the C&B Factory site, where their guests will be wining and dining. The wastewater management report, from Diston Group P/L contains significant errors. They tell us that "The Dabyminga Creek is a seasonal stream ... the rest of the town discharges its sullage waters and potentially septic overflows to the Creek". Dabyminga Creek is about 2 hours and 15 minutes away from Kongwak - the report is completely wrong !! None of our houses discharge into our creek - the Foster Creek. Meanwhile the proposal includes a 3 Megalitre holding dam for effluent, and drinking water tanks located in the immediate vicinity of the sewage processing plant. What's wrong with this picture ? It is proposed that they spray the finished effluent on their crops, but effluent is not suitable for even below ground irrigation unless another filtration step is added. The effluent has a specification of 20 mg/l BOD, 30 mg/L suspended solids and get this ... E. Coli of 100 coliforms per 100 mL. For drinking water in Victoria the E. Coli count must be zero and BOD must be 1-2 mg/L. Would you want this in the environment in Kongwak ? If they spray effluent at night it will be wind blown and condense on cold surfaces such as roofs, and that's where we get our drinking water from. Help Save Kongwak !
