Thanks for your support to Save Kongwak Group possums ! This is one example of the beautiful wildlife in our tiny hamlet, a ring tail possum happily munching through our garden smoke tree. We live in this quiet beautiful place and we want to keep it that way.

We are nearly at 4000 signatures for the Save Kongwak Group and we need your help to reach that mark. This is a small update on what's happening and how you can help.

The developers' permit (PA2402814) has been lodged with the Victorian Government Minister, but is not yet on public display. When it does go on display we will need your help to lodge objections.

For now, we need your help in sharing this petition with your friends and family over social media. It would be great if we can reach 4000 possum signatures ! Ask your friends if they will please sign our petition to help save Kongwak. If you have already done this, please share it again as some people need multiple nudges. The link to this petition is here:

You can copy and share the link. Remember you don't have to contribute money (it goes to change.org, but please do make sure you share on social media. Below is a reminder of just 3 of our major objections to the proposal. We are not opposed to any development, just the size and scope of this development.

Just FYI - three of our major objections to the proposal are:

  • a noisy late night trading, 130 seat wedding venue with live music in the old Cheese and Butter Factory, just 40 m from the nearest house. This triples the population of our hamlet.
  • 39 cabins to be located on current grazing farm land - disrupting the serenity of our tiny hamlet of just population 48. The number of buildings will equal the number of occupied houses in our hamlet ! Impactful and totally inappropriate, this will further double the population of our hamlet.
  • septic tank sewage works located on flood prone farm land, with human waste pumped over Foster Creek around 400 m for processing. The effluent pipe will cross the creek and the septic tanks will be located just 20m from a permanent tributary to the Foster Creek. These paddocks run with water for 6-9 months of the year.

Thanks for listening and thanks for sharing
