Thanks again for your support and if you haven't shared our petition lately with your socials - please do, it's never too late. 

Remind anyone signing up that they don't have to donate cash - just skip that step - the money goes to Change.org not to us.

Finally some hot weather arrived but the storms caused a lot of damage and Kongwak was without power for three days. That may not seem a lot but no power for us means no water (no showers, toilets, dishwashing) and we all lost food out of our freezers and fridges. This is the downside of living in an unserviced hamlet ! We also had no fuel - the closest open servo was 100 kms away.

Just an update - today we emailled the progress on the petition to the head of the Department of Planning, listing all the names that have signed up. If you want to contact the head of department his email is:

and you can write any concerns you have about the development to him. 

Also we plan to start posting to socials quoting some of the things you have said in your petition replies. Or if you would like to add more comments you can email us at savekongwakgroup@gmail.com
