Families in Kodagu are living in fear. Farmers and plantation workers are losing their livelihoods. Coffee, cardamom, arecanut, plantain, and other crops are being destroyed repeatedly, while human deaths and injuries have also occurred in recent months [6][1][7]. This is no longer a temporary nuisance; it is a serious crisis affecting public safety, agriculture, and rural life [8][3].

We have repeatedly appealed to the Forest Department, the State Government, and concerned officials, but the situation remains unresolved. While some measures have been announced, including barricades, early warning systems, and rapid response teams, the ground reality for residents remains alarming and dangerous [1][2][4].

We are not asking for the removal of wildlife. We are asking for urgent, humane, and effective solutions that protect both people and elephants. The current situation is unsustainable and demands immediate intervention.

- Stronger protection for plantation workers, villagers, and school-going children.
- Long-term conflict mitigation with input from local residents and experts.
