Save koalas & reduce traffic in Koala Park precinct, Burleigh Heads

The issue

There was recently a petition to council to consider closing Reserve Street to through traffic and construct the missing link at Tabilban Street. The council did a study on the proposed option and it will almost double traffic from 7,500 cars a day to 13,000 cars a day. This would be devastating for local residents and the koala population that live close to this route.

Out of 3 potential options, the 'Local Traffic' option (option c) is the only option that will benefit local residents / save koalas and reduce traffic to 3,000 cars a day. On top of this it would provide a thoroughfare for local koalas to access Burleigh Ridge Park.

As residents of the area, I'm sure we all would prefer less traffic and an option that will save koalas who are now listed as an endangered species in NSW, QLD & ACT. Please help out and sign now.
