The Issue

The International Newcomer Academy (INA) has long been a pillar of the Fort Worth community, providing a nurturing environment for international students who are new to the United States. For many of these students, INA is not just a school—it's a home away from home, a place where they find understanding, support, and the chance to succeed both academically and personally.

However, the threat of closure looms over the academy, a prospect that has sparked deep concern among those of us who understand the invaluable role INA plays. International students are a part of the Fort Worth family, and the community won't stand by while our students are institutionally attacked. Closing INA would not only disrupt the education and lives of these students but also damage the rich cultural tapestry that makes our community unique.

The importance of INA extends beyond the classroom. It is integral to FWISD and FW, connects with community organizations, and helps foster an environment of cultural exchange and diversity appreciation. The loss of INA would be felt throughout Fort Worth, diminishing the vibrancy and collaborative spirit that we have worked so hard to build.

We implore the decision-makers to consider the far-reaching implications of closing INA. We propose exploring alternative solutions, such as forming partnerships with local businesses or garnering additional funding through grants and community initiatives aimed at keeping INA's doors open. By investing in these students' futures, we are investing in the future of Fort Worth itself.

We cannot allow the closure of INA to go unchallenged. Let us come together as a community to ensure that our international students continue to have access to the education, support, and opportunities they deserve. Please sign this petition to save INA from closure and keep the heart of Fort Worth beating strong.
