The Government has shelved its pledge to fully rebuild or refurbish Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St Mary's hosptials by 2030. In doing so, they have broken their 2019 general election manifesto commitment. 

These hospitals need work done urgently and they cannot wait another decade.

This decision comes despite NHS data showing that these hospitals have some of the biggest 'high-risk' catalogue of repairs in the country totalling £155m (Charing Cross), £68m (Hammersmith) and £126m (St Mary's).

Professor Tim Orchard, chief executive of the Imperial College NHS Trust which manages the hospitals, has warned that the delay will make it impossible to patch up old facilities which house clinical services. 

We are calling on the Government and the Health Secretary to reverse their decision, honour their promise and provide these hospitals with the capital expenditure that they so desperately need.
