Save Holy Family High School
The Issue
****ATTENTION: WE ARE NOT ASKING FOR DONATIONS AT THIS TIME****
Dear Supporters of Holy Family High School,
As you may have heard, our beloved high school, with an 86-year legacy of forming confident, compassionate, faith-filled young women, is set to close at the end of this academic year. This news has shaken and saddened our community of parents, faculty/staff, alumnae, the BVM community, and all who have supported the mission, past and present. Yet it does not hit harder than on the young women currently attending HFHS, who now see themselves displaced, and on the many middle school girls who have aspirations of becoming a Gael.
HFHS parents make great sacrifices to provide their daughters with a solid, Catholic education, rooted in the core values of Education, Charity, Justice, and Freedom. Many of our HFHS students are first generation women of color, who struggle with a sense of belonging and face unjust disadvantages. All HFHS students greatly benefit from the supportive and nurturing environment, centered on the individual to help her grow toward the best version of herself. The Gael experience has paved the way for countless, successful professional paths, lifelong friendships, and a lasting pride and kinship in belonging to the HFHS family.
The announcement to close HFHS explains that this decision was made based on financial challenges, declining enrollment, competition from local public and charter schools, yet was not made in collaboration with those who will be significantly impacted. We would like to join in solidarity with the parents and students as a collective to elevate our concerns and address any prospects for keeping HFHS in operation.
Will you join us in preserving the journey for current and future Gaels?
Please sign and share this petition and thank you! NO NEED TO MAKE ANY DONATION AT THIS TIME!
