SAVE Historic Gouin-Lawrence-Graber House in Bellmore Village
Why this petition matters

I am sharing this story with those in the local community. Many larger properties with historic houses that have architectural features no longer found today are in jeopardy of being demolished by developers. I would like to call your attention to the GOUIN-LAWRENCE-GRABER HOUSE at 2116 Centre Avenue, Bellmore, NY where developers are planning to tear down the house and build two (that do not fit in with this neighborhood) in its place.
Centre Avenue is the next street over from Bellmore Village where "A Walk Down Memory Lane" is posted on a sign above the train station to highlight what the community means to those living here and what we are trying to preserve. I live two houses down from the Gouin-Lawrence-Graber House and moved to Centre Avenue due to its historic nature and ambiance.
Destroying the Gouin-Lawrence-Graber House (all were doctors in the community for decades) will impact us all. Please stand up to development where not appropriate. Help to SAVE The Gouin-Lawrence-Graber House!

Our historic villages, their character and architecture as well as the legacy of their people needs to be protected. Ensure that the ambiance that still exists in parts of Long Island is preserved for current and future generations.
If we don't act, we will lose our beautiful communities and overcrowding will take over. Working together, we can impact change.
