Save Historic Adult Store - The Wildcat, from Zoning Changes and Closure

Save Historic Adult Store - The Wildcat, from Zoning Changes and Closure
The Issue
My grandfather, a first-generation immigrant, opened The Wildcat in 1969, during a pivotal cultural shift. The shop began as, and remains, an adult bookstore; an uncommon sight in the city of angels, rich in history it has stood the test of time. Today, it stands as a beacon of a bygone era, representing a part of Los Angeles that gets glossed over when people reminisce about the past.
The problem is, the county of Los Angeles believes it's time our business closes its doors for good, citing new zoning changes and laws regarding adult businesses. If we lose this battle, The Wildcat, a third-generation Jewish-owned business, would cease to exist. This is not just about a store; it is about preserving a piece of community history.
We understand that maintaining law and order is essential. But The Wildcat has been operational even before these changes were in place and should therefore be considered as an exception. The proposed location for our relocation are not viable and our business would likely suffer and possibly shut down. But we are determined not to let that happen.
This is a plea, not just from a small business owner trying to stay afloat, but also from a grandson trying to keep his grandfather's legacy alive. Let The Wildcat roar for a few more decades. Sign this petition and show your support for the preservation of our cultural history and small businesses.
