Save Grandma's Kitchen

Petition to Save Grandma’s Kitchen — A Lifeline for Our Community

To: Local Council Representatives,

We, the undersigned, stand united in urgent opposition to the decision threatening the future of Grandma’s Kitchen — a service that is not just important, but essential to the survival and well-being of many in our community.

Grandma’s Kitchen is not simply a place where meals are handed out. It is where dignity is restored. It is where people who are struggling are met with kindness instead of judgment. It is where the hungry are fed, the lonely are seen, and hope is quietly rebuilt — one meal, one conversation, one act of compassion at a time.

For many, this service is a lifeline.

Without it, people will go hungry.

Without it, people will be pushed further into isolation.

Without it, some will have nowhere else to turn.

Behind every meal served is a story — a parent doing their best, someone facing homelessness, a person battling circumstances beyond their control. Grandma’s Kitchen meets these people with warmth, respect, and humanity.

Removing or restricting this service is not just a policy decision — it will have real, human consequences.

We acknowledge the role of the council and the importance of guidelines. But we firmly believe there is a way forward that protects both community wellbeing and compliance. Shutting down compassion should never be the solution.

We call on the council to:

Immediately reconsider any decision that would stop or limit Grandma’s Kitchen

Listen to the voices of the community who rely on and support this service

Work alongside organisers, not against them, to find a solution

Recognise the human impact of this decision beyond paperwork and policy

Grandma’s Kitchen is built on generosity, love, and the belief that no one should be left behind.

If this service is taken away, the people who suffer most will be those who already have the least.

We ask you to stand with us ------ not against us!

And protect a service that embodies the very heart of community.
