Save Ginger and her cubs from being killed

The Issue

Ginger is not just any bear; she is a mother trying to protect and feed her cubs in the forests of British Columbia. Like so many animals around the world, Ginger faces challenges due to human negligence. The issue stems from unsecured garbage bins and homes in the area, leading Ginger and her cubs into these spaces in search of food. As a result, they have been labeled as pests by the authorities and face an imminent threat of being trapped and killed.  https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid025tWE68fDQLdufZdJgMBzTahQgLqg3qjdbNWcQVLBGw1d6TTayH5TacKgRfn7n8Shl&id=100033726425739

This situation is tragically similar to the fate of Hope and Bounce, bears from California who are in the same predicament. The government's decision to eliminate these bears is not just an isolated problem; it reflects a larger issue of how human behavior impacts wildlife. Instead of removing Ginger and her cubs from their natural habitat for acting on instinct, we should be taking measures to prevent such encounters in the first place.

The solution is a simple yet effective one that has been proven to work: secure the garbage bins, remove potential bear attractants, and utilize electric fencing in vulnerable areas. Such measures not only protect the bears but also ensure the safety and well-being of the local community. It's a collective responsibility that involves everyone from residents to local authorities, ensuring that homes and public spaces do not inadvertently become bear traps.

Our plea to the Province of British Columbia is clear: halt the killing order on Ginger and her innocent cubs. Let us instead embrace preventative measures that preserve and respect our natural wildlife. Community efforts, awareness, and simple steps can resolve this issue without resorting to such drastic and irreversible actions. We urge everyone who cares about animal welfare, biodiversity, and the preservation of our natural ecosystems to stand with us.

Please sign this petition to stop the unnecessary killing of Ginger and her cubs and to promote humane and responsible coexistence with our wildlife. Together, we can make a difference.
