A message from Joe. For those of you who don’t know me, I am the owner of Fueled Coffee in the market town of Uttoxeter. I set up Fueled Coffee four years ago and my business has been going from strength to strength, until recently when I received my April business rates. 

The Current inflation rate is 2.6% Fueled’s business rates have increased by 140%. East Staffordshire Borough Council have said Fueled is not a small business. I can’t pass the 140% onto a cup of coffee because I will lose all my fantastic locals and I know you won’t come back. 

I know a lot of my customers live by themselves and it is  an important time in their day to come and have a chat with other locals. It’s one big family here.

I am hoping the local council and government are not going to force the closure of my business. This is a personal message from someone that cares about the high Street and the community. Someone that goes out in the morning and sweeps the High Street.
