Time to act! Request for Public Comment to Protect the Franklin Reservoir

Residents are showing up for Sherrelwood at the Adams County Board of Commissioners hearings weekly on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 AM. This week, we learned the hearing was canceled, but had a great discussion with county staff instead.
OUR GOAL: To halt any further rezoning or development approvals in Sherrelwood until we have an official Sherrelwood Neighborhood Plan that reflects our communities needs in relation to Adams County's Comprehensive Plan.
We have unique needs different from areas already being addressed along the Pecos and Washington corridors, especially those of us in Western Hills/Valley Vista and along Greenwood and Conifer/Broadway.
We have limited space left to address those needs. The Franklin Reservoir may realistically be the last piece of land we have to work with, and we need to get it right for the people who are already here.
Adding more density is inequitable, ignoring many existing community needs where we are already over burdened by highway traffic, noise, air pollution, proximity to industry with lack of access to community and green spaces.
Please share this petition and provide your public comment to Adams County by August 4, 2026!
