For those of you who are familiar with the Franklin Reservoir, you know how special it is, that it's worth protecting, and how much value it could bring to the community if we could preserve it as a community amenity.

For those of you who are not familiar with the property, but are with us on this journey to protect it, I encourage you to seek it out and see it for yourself.  

Where is the Franklin Reservoir? 

I've been learning a lot about Sherrelwood's place in Unincorporated Adams County while researching the history of the reservoir and our neighborhood, and I'm uncovering there has been a persistent underinvestment in our infrastructure, acknowledged by Adams County in their comprehensive plans, while we endure disproportionate burdens such as environmental exposure, densification and lack of connectivity. I would love to share more details on what I've learned and see what others can share to fill in any gaps.

For those who live in Sherrelwood or near by, I hope you'll join us on Monday, July 6th at our monthly Sherrelwood Neighborhood Organization meeting where I'll be sharing a brief historical overview of our neighborhood, offering context for our current situation, and will invite others to talk after the meeting to share their memories of the area. We meet at 6 PM at Fire Station 11 at 70th and Pecos.
