We, the undersigned, respectfully and urgently call on the Gasser Foundation to reconsider the rent increase imposed on Forge Restaurant, which has forced its impending closure on April 28, 2026.

Forge is not just another restaurant. It is a cornerstone of Napa’s community, culture, and local economy.

For years, Forge has provided:

• A gathering place for residents and visitors
• Jobs for local workers
• A platform for local food, wine, and hospitality
• A welcoming, vibrant space that reflects the character of Napa

Napa is already facing increasing commercialization and rising costs that push out locally rooted businesses. Allowing Forge to close under these circumstances sends a clear message: that long-standing, community-driven establishments are expendable.

We strongly urge the Gasser Foundation to:

• Reevaluate and reverse the rent increase
• Engage in fair, good-faith negotiations with Forge ownership
• Consider the broader community impact of this closure
