The administration just announced new proposed rules Nov 19, and the public comment period officially opens, November 21, 2025.  

Subject: Protect Our Wildlife—Do Not Weaken the Endangered Species Act

To Secretary Doug Burgum and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service,

We, the undersigned concerned citizens, urge you to maintain the Endangered Species Act (ESA) exactly as it is written and to reject the currently proposed amendments that threaten to dismantle America’s most effective wildlife protection law. For over 50 years, the ESA has prevented the extinction of 99% of the species under its care. We ask that you stand by science and conservation, rather than corporate interests, to ensure this legacy continues.
