EH32 Live has been part of the East Lothian community since 2021. We first opened during COVID restrictions as a safe space for people to meet outdoors and see live music for free. We are a family and dog friendly event which runs almost every Saturday and Sunday of the summer in Cockenzie House gardens. We have a fully licensed bar and have 2 live music acts per day. 

We submitted our occasional license to East Lothian council which was taken to the licensing board at a live meeting on 25/05/23. Here the board unanimously agreed to grant the license with a few amendments to our running times. 

Since then, the council have ceased all EH32 Live events due to a small number of complaints and the class of use of the gardens. We have desperately looked for help with the relevant teams and local counsellors. We are coming to a dead end with this as we are not getting any answers as to what this means for this year’s events. 

We have started this petition as a way of showing how much this event is loved within our community in the hope that we can fast track this application process. We feel like this will be a massive loss to everyone who attends these events and the 46 acts and 18 members of staff who are also affected by this.
