The iconic and historic 200-year-old Well is under the care of Drury Meats Shop because it is capped and commemorated inside the building as a wishing well where locals throw in the odd coin for local charities and schools. The history of the Well can be seen in the old photos on the wall.

If these important shops in the heart of Drury are demolished, then Drury loses an important fund-raising facility and one of the few features left in area.

Who in their right mind would write off one of the most popular shopping villages in South Auckland, with the sweep of a pen, when there is a viable and much cheaper option on the other side of the road?  Unbelievable!

Only a few signatures away from a whopping 10,000 supporters to keep Drury Lane Shops. No-one wants to stop this project but why sacrifice these 12 small businesses when there is another alternative!!
