We cracked the 1000 signatures!! Thankyou everyone!
On Saturday a further 275 customers signed the Save Drury Lane Shops petition, in person, to bring the current total of signatures to 1,162!
Customers indicated their dismay, anger and sadness to the proprietors, at the potential loss of their popular stop-off shops, and at the duress these fellow Kiwis are suffering not knowing what is happening to their businesses.
These business owners fought to remain in business during the Covid Lockdowns and now in their recovery phase, they are facing potential loss of friendships, familiar faces, income and businesses.
The question to ask is. What is the reason for demolishing the Drury Lane shops on the North side of Waihoehoe road when there is, in some part, wasteland on the South side which is just going to be planted up in trees!
Ask this of your Auckland Mayor, Wayne Brown, your Minister of Transport, David Parker, your local council representatives.
Why choose the North Side? Why not the South side?
It appears no-one is prepared to answer this obvious question. We want to see a specific answer in writing! Not want the usual answer "Look at the Big Picture."
