Hi everyone,
I am happy to say this will be the last update. Thanks to the hard work of Councilwoman Gauthier's office, BILL NO. 250325 has been officially signed and enacted by the Mayor! The bill specifically protects overnight parking in the area bounded by 32nd Street, Cherry Street, 34th Street, and Market Street. This means our food trucks can still safely operate into the late night hours, without fighting for a new parking spot every day!
Here is the full text of the bill.
Thank you all for signing, sharing, and supporting the petition. We are all super glad to keep our beloved food truck businesses open and operating per usual.
On a separate note, I wanted to say that local elections really do matter. We would not have been able to achieve this without our elected City Council officials and mayor, and this was my first personal experience engaging with local politics. I hope this victory inspires you to step up and lead when you see an injustice occurring - especially in today's world. Don't be scared to make your voice heard or make a petition, even when you don't know what you're doing - I didn't, but we were able to get people on board that knew what to do. Do your best to pay attention and vote in your local elections :)
