Drexel University has notified Pete’s Little Lunch Box, Happy Sunshine, Lucky Star, Kami, and other trucks that they can no longer park their food trucks overnight and do business before 7AM. As a result, Pete’s Little Lunchbox will be closing down permanently on Friday, April 4th.

EDIT 2: Kami, located at 33rd and Market outside the Hagerty Library is also affected by this. The list has been updated and it appears the affected area is beyond 33rd + Arch but extends to 33rd and Market as well.

Food trucks are essential to Drexel University’s culture and for many students, a deciding factor to why they choose to attend here. These food trucks also feed construction workers, visitors, and many more members of the Philadelphia community. Students should not be forced to accept overpriced and inconvenient dining options at the cost of small businesses’ livelihoods.

We, the community and students of Drexel University, ask the school to heavily reconsider and reverse this shameful decision to support our beloved small businesses.
