Save Dewsbury Town. Axe parking proposed parking.

Save Dewsbury Town. Axe parking proposed parking.
The Issue
Attention DEWSBURY!
Our council are introducing parking changes to to free car parks ️ AND increasing charges in existing car parks.
Our car parks are used by workers, shoppers and individuals accessing core services.
All of which have a positive contribution to our local economy.
In this current climate our local business are already struggling and workers are getting paid less in real terms.
The proposed parking charges will drive people out of our precious town and towards out of town shopping facilities and cities.
There is endless evidence which shows parking charges have ‘devastating’ effects on town centre footfall and economy. Wales and stoke on Trent are examples of this.
We understand our council is experiencing financial crisis, this will only cause more financial woes. However, axing the parking existing parking charges would great benefit town centre and draw in more council revenue than the parking charges would draw in.
Please get behind this and share! Thank you!
