It has come to the attention of local high school students that a shared favorite teacher has sat out to prevent them from being fired. Denton shared his mobile phone number with students in case of emergencies, or if we simply needed to talk. That alone was looked at with misjudgment. This specific teacher not only teaches English literature but teaches students how to tie a tie if their father never did. Denton made a goal as a teacher, to teach. Zachary Denton forms personal relationships with all of his students and shares the same love for each and every one as if they were his own. He reminds his students every day that he loves them all, and if they need anything, Denton is always there. He wants to be remembered, not by how coworkers and staff see him, but by the positive memories he and his students share together. Some may view him as an ineffective teacher, but we see the opposite. I know I can speak on behalf of my peers and say we look forward to seeing this teacher every day. Students feel more motivated to do the work, knowing it will personally make their teacher proud. He listens and understands us in ways we believe others simply can’t. Every single one of his students is treated with equality and respect. All of us! He treats us like young adults, not children. We’ve made jokes, nicknames, friends, and countless memories thanks to Mr Denton. We need to act now! Each signature is a step closer to bringing happiness back to the classroom. I am trying to save someone who saved many others, including myself.
