Chancellor Mildred Garcia is withholding funds from all California State University campuses, despite having an 8.3 billion dollar reserve. This is taxpayer money, and money collected from student fees.  State funding was allocated by our legislators to fund the mission of the California State University system.  This forced, artificial austerity is causing classes to be cut and vital campus functions cut or deferred. Staff and faculty have lost their jobs. This is happening at all 23 campuses. 

This petition is calling for action by our Senate Executive Committee to put a resolution on the Tuesday, May 13th Academic Senate to call for a Vote of no Confidence in Chancellor Mildred Garcia and the Board of Trustees. The resolution should also request that our legislators examine the dysfunctional Board of Trustees and their selection of Chancellor Garcia.  Chancellor Garcia has not shown her commitment to the mission of the CSU.  Her artificial austerity measures (and refusal to use the 8.3 billion dollar reserve) is impeding our ability to serve the mission of CSU, Stanislaus
