The Issue
I can't express how much Cibo in Uptown New Orleans means to me. After finishing long shifts at work late into the night, Cibo has always been my go-to spot for a comforting meal, a relaxing atmosphere, and a chance to catch up on schoolwork. With their delicious sandwiches, warm-hearted cook, and undeniable charm, Cibo embodies the spirit of our community—a place where friends gather and memories are made.
Unfortunately, this cherished spot is facing closure as the owner plans to transition the space into a flower shop. While new ventures are always exciting, losing Cibo would strip New Orleans of a unique late-night dining option amidst limited alternatives for those who thrive after hours.
Cibo has not only fed my stomach but has also fueled my soul with its vibrant energy and cozy setting. It’s a place that countless residents have depended upon for solace and sustenance. Once, late-night study groups and unwinding post-work gatherings were part of the rhythm that kept Cibo alive in our hearts.
The economic landscape has been tough on small businesses, yet I'm hopeful that we can unite in preserving this vital piece of our neighborhood. Perhaps we can urge the owner to consider solutions like revamping the menu, hosting events, or exploring partnerships that bolster both Cibo’s viability and the owner's entrepreneurial pursuits.
Please lend your support by signing this petition to help save Cibo, ensuring that future nights in Uptown New Orleans remain flavorful and welcoming. Let's come together to preserve a locale that has been more than just a restaurant—it’s been a gathering place for so many of us.
