Aberdeenshire Council announced the closure of Cairnbulg Library (amongst others) on Friday 15th November 2024.  This announcement was made with absolutely no public consultation, staff consultation or impact assessments. 

For 30 years Cairnbulg Library has been more than just a place to borrow books.  It is a cornerstone of our community, providing a safe and welcoming space for people of all ages to learn, connect, and grow.   The library also hosts and runs a number of community outreach programmes which are always well attended.  The closure of our library would be a significant loss for our community, affecting everyone from young families to seniors.
