The Burwood Post Office is set to close on 30 June 2023.

Our Burwood Post Office is an Australia Post Corporate Operated and Run Branch that provides FULL SERVICES to a local community that has seen many closures, for example. local Bank Branch closures due to major business and corporation restructuring to increase their profitability without considering the impact on the local communities.

This is another example of  Corporations putting Increased profitability ahead of Community needs and with NO regard to the impact on local businesses, community groups and Individuals that utilise the services currently offered.

For many of our local community members, this is their one stop shop  to not only pay their services and utilities bills but also complete banking transactions. Australia Post is not only a letter and parcel service provider but also a retail outlet and for over 600 Post Office Box Holders a necessary service provider in this community.

Once this location is closed, the local community will have lost their local pick up point for carded items at their local house / business address.

Australia Post alternative offering is to utilise other LPO's but being privately owned and operated, LPO's DO NOT OFFER A FULL RANGE OF SERVICES that a Corporate Branch, such as the current Burwood Branch does..
