Barrington Sports and Social Club has been a cornerstone of our community for 50+ years, serving as a hub for the village sports teams and its members. Its closure would not only deprive the village of a cherished local institution but also have broader negative implications on the social fabric of Barrington.

For years, the club has been a big part of the village. Current residents and some that have now moved away  from Barrington have been involved  in the running of the social club or a member at some point in their life. 

The club allows all ages and is a great place for families as well as those within the sports teams to come together in an environment  that allows them to socialise.

Additionally, Barrington Social Club has hosted countless events over the years along with operating the bar for any village hall events that required a licensed bar.

The plans displayed at the recent public gathering gave details of the new build Village Hall. They show, following demolition to the existing building, that within the new Village Hall there is no reference to replacing the Sports & Social Club area, commonly known as The Davies Room. 

We Barrington Sports and Social Committee call upon both the Village Hall Trustees & Barrington Parish Council to  hold a joint meeting with the Committee of the Sports and Social in order that plans for an amicable way forward can be discussed.
