Save Avon Crest (Stratford, 1891) - Preserve our heritage and protect our environment

The Issue

Save Avon Crest wants to prevent the demolition of Stratford’s first public hospital.

Avon Crest (1891) is a repository of personal memory and collective social meaning. It is one of Stratford’s most important architectural landmarks. As one of only a few surviving 19th-century hospital buildings in Canada, it commemorates the contributions of healthcare professionals over the past 130 years.

Save Avon Crest wants the building’s owner, the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance, to preserve and repurpose the building: to celebrate its importance to heritage and to avoid the economic waste and environmental harm of unnecessary demolition.

Send a message to the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance and to Stratford City Council.

Help us save Stratford’s architecture, heritage and environment.
