Save Aravalli Hills

Save Aravalli Hills
The Issue
Nature has always been our true sanctuary, a refuge that provides us with serenity and balance amidst the chaos of modern life. The Aravalli Hills, with their majestic presence, are a testament to nature's resilience and beauty. Unfortunately, this vital ecological zone is under severe threat due to rapid urbanization and indiscriminate mining.
The Aravalli Range, stretching approximately 800 km across western India, is one of the world's oldest mountain ranges. It is a crucial ecological buffer for the north-western parts of India, helping in replenishing groundwater and regulating climate. Dishearteningly, large-scale encroachments and illegal mining activities have severely degraded this natural wonder. According to reports, more than 31 hills of the Aravalli range have already vanished due to mining in regions like Rajasthan.
This destruction is not only an affront to nature but a violation that directly affects human life. The loss of vegetation increases the likelihood of desertification, negatively impacting agriculture and water supply, and contributing to the rise of devastating dust storms that affect millions of people. This degradation leads to a loss of biodiversity, threatening species that rely on the unique ecosystem of the Aravallis.
We implore the government and concerned authorities to take immediate action to halt unauthorized mining and enforce strict regulations protecting the Aravalli Range. Implementing sustainable development plans that balance the needs of people and the environment is imperative to preserve this irreplaceable heritage. This includes reforestation efforts and the promotion of eco-tourism, which can provide livelihoods to local communities without harming the environment.
This is a clarion call to unite and demand decisive action. We cannot sit idly by as these hills crumble before our eyes. Join us in our mission to preserve the Aravalli Hills for future generations. Let us be the voice that speaks for Mother Nature. Please lend your support and sign this petition to save the Aravalli Hills.
