Save Animals Well Being In Zoos And Aquariums

The Issue

WHAT WE WANT TO DO

We want to raise awareness of the animal abuse in zoos and aquariums in the U.S.  According to "WorldAnimalProtection.org" animal cruelty is at a high rate of 75% of animals in zoos and aquariums being mistreated and abused. Most zoos and aquariums put a lot of stress on the animals making them wear clothes and do tricks for humans. Since they're being forced to do tricks that animals wouldn't regularly partake in it can be stressful for the animal. We believe this is important to bring awareness towards because of the artificial and stressful environments they are living in, they are no way provided enough room or natural entertainment.

Some zoos tranquilize, give them antidepressants, and even anti-psychotic drugs which can do a deal of damage and traumatize them, some zoos drug them to keep them for more profit. According to sentientmedia.org 80% of animals in zoos show signs of stress, and 18% of animals in zoos are actually endangered and in need of assistance, the other 82% doesn't need to be in captivity.

WHY THIS IS WORTH ATTENTION

Well known zoos and aquariums are continuing to abuse animals with no real consequences, According to loroparque.com PETA alone has killed 41,539 animals alone and SeaWorld has killed 40 Orcas and 500 dolphins with no repercussion. PETA has killed mother and baby animals due to over-breeding them for profit. This isn't just PETA a ton of zoos breed animals for profit only having to kill them for lack of room, 90% of Zoos and aquariums are doing breeding programs.

Feline animals in zoos are declawed and defanged to make them 'less harmful". even when these animals show or not show violent behavior they should never be declawed or defanged this is a horrible possess consisting of cutting the first knuckle of the feline off that's like cutting the top of your finger off. It can lead to paw pain, back pain, infection, and death. Defanging is when they pull the teeth out making it hard for them to eat, or they sand down the teeth until the root is showing leaving root and gum exposed, that can lead to infection, death, and rotting.

We worry people might normalize this abuse even more than it is already and ignore this help raise awareness to this horrible treatment.
