Save Animals and Help Ban Pound Seizure (4 PETITIONS)

The Issue

Cruella, a shepherd chow mix who wore a purple collar, was found lost in a small town in Michigan. She may have thought that she was being rescued when workers from the county pound picked her up.

Instead it was the start of a year-long nightmare.

She was handed over to an animal dealer who later sold her to a university for use in painful veterinary medical training exercises. Cruella was the victim of a practice called pound seizure, the sale of cats and dogs from a shelter to a research or education facility, oftentimes through random-source animal brokers called Class B dealers.

While it may be difficult to imagine animals who once lived in loving homes being confined within a laboratory cage, it is the harsh reality for thousands of cats and dogs, like Cruella, every year.

Founded in 1883, the American Anti-Vivisection Society is the first non-profit animal advocacy and educational organization in the United States dedicated to ending experimentation on animals in research, testing, and education.

Join our efforts to end experimentation on animals:

1st PETITION: Ask your legislators to support a legislation to outlaw Class B dealers

2nd PETITION: Support the Great Ape Protection Act.

3rd PETITION: Ask Clinique to Join the Leaping Bunny Program.

4th PETITION: Pledge to shop cruelty free!

P.S. Learn more about the use of animals in research and testing, as well as available non-animal alternatives.

Thank you!
