We, the undersigned, call on Wrexham County Borough Council to immediately pause any decisions to close Acton Community Resource Centre and to carry out a full and transparent public consultation, as required under The Local Government & Elections Act 2021. Wrexham County Borough Councils own Public Participation Strategy states that it aims to "Ensure that we consult on the right things, in the right ways, at the right times, with the right
people."

What’s happening?
Acton Community Resource Centre is a vital local hub used by residents of all ages. It provides space for community groups, support services, and activities that help reduce isolation and strengthen our community.
There are growing concerns that decisions about its future are being made without consideration of the voice of the people who rely on it most.

Closing the centre could mean:

What we are asking for

• Pause any closure plans immediately

• Fully investigate and disclose the origins of the capital funding used to establish and maintain the building, ensuring transparency about how and why this community asset was created
