Save a house built in 1916 from demolition
The Issue
The historic house built in 1916 is under threat of demolition, and we cannot let this happen. This house has stood the test of time and has been a part of our community for over a century. It is a beautiful property that served as a home to three generations of a Glen Head family before being purchased by a developer.
This house features unique architectural details that are not commonly found in modern homes. Its design reflects the craftsmanship and attention to detail that were valued during its construction.
If we allow this house to be demolished and the property subdivided, we will lose the charm of the neighborhood and set a precedent that other developers will use to subdivide other properties that become available for sale. We need to stop Glen Head from becoming over developed.
We urge the Nassau County Planning Commission to reject the proposed subdivision of 748 Glen Cove Avenue by the developer Riccardo & Catherine Gugliucci and help us save this historic property. We believe that with proper care and maintenance, it can continue to stand as a testament to our community's rich past for many years to come.
