Those in need of more personal support worker hours are crying for your help. Did you know that Canada is currently facing a growing demand for personal support workers (PSWs) due to an aging population and limited funding to meet staffing demands? Measures such as wage increases, training subsidies, and investments in long-term care are aimed at attracting and educating more workers. However, challenges remain, particularly understaffing, irregular schedules, and the need for improved working conditions and professional certification. According to Hart College of Cardiac, 24,000 new PSWs are needed by 2026, making this matter time-sensitive and very concerning. We need to act now!!

Savez-vous que présentement, le Canada fait face à une demande croissante pour les préposés aux services de soutien à la personne (PSSP) en raison du vieillissement de la population. Des mesures telles que l’augmentation des salaires, les subventions pour la formation, et les investissements dans les soins de longue durée visent à attirer davantage de travailleurs/travailleuses. Cependant, des défis restent, particulièrement le sous-effectif, des horaires irréguliers, et la nécessité d’améliorer les conditions de travail et la certification professionnelle. Selon Hart College of Cardiac, 24 000 nouveaux PSSP sont requis d’ici à 2026, nous devons agir maintenant !!
