Santander have announced that they are closing their branch in Southampton Bitterne Road on 5 August 2021 at 4pm. Customers will need to go to alternative Branchs in Southampton or Eastleigh.

The justification for this move is that customers are increasingly using other ways to manage their money online or through telephone banking. We don't believe this takes into account older customers or those with disabilities or on low incomes who will still need to access the branch and will find this closure a major inconvenience. This will also mean customers having to travel additional miles during a global pandemic and causing more air pollution due to vehicle fumes.

This branch always seem busy whenever I go in there and I don't believe most customers would agree with this closure. Please sign this petition if you agree and share with others!
