As a parent of three children who are enrolled in three different schools amongst the Pace community of Santa Rosa County, I would like to see the face covering requirements be removed from our schools and instead be optional.

It is simple, our public schools are in the state of Florida. Which means Governor DeSantis’ Executive Order 20-139 from June 2020 safe guarded our individual right to choice. 

As of April 14, 2021 Commissioner Corcoran at the FL Department of Education put out a memorandum indicating at this point masks no longer serve a purpose.

Last, but not least on April 29, 2021 the State Surgeon General of FL Scott Rivkees signed a new Public Health Advisory, which rescinded all the previous Public Health Advisories during 2020. 

It has always been a personal choice and Santa Rosa County has been infringing on that right. It is officially time now as the “law” the school board claimed to follow has now been rescinded!
