Santa Fe Community: Open Shadow Mountain Inpatient Residential Recovery Center

Santa Fe Community: Open Shadow Mountain Inpatient Residential Recovery Center
The Issue
The residents of Santa Fe County hereby wholeheartedly endorse Shadow Mountain Recovery, LLC’s proposed permitted use of 31 Calle del Barrio. Santa Fe, NM 87108. The proposed use is for a twenty-two bed residential and detoxification treatment program to serve adults (primarily females) suffering from substance use disorders. As one of the largest substance use treatment providers in New Mexico, Shadow Mountain Recovery’s ability to provide services to citizens of Santa Fe struggling with addiction is paramount to the well-being and safety of our community at large.
Furthermore, not having Shadow Mountain Recovery’s beds available for substance abuse treatment during the COVID-19 pandemic has further inundated our local Emergency Rooms when those beds have been needed most. The way we will safely navigate through this pandemic is by ensuring that our community has immediate access to the medical services needed. The approval of their application will play a pivotal part in the continued conquest to provide exceptional public health services.
Santa Fe County consistently is in the top 10 most negatively impacted counties in New Mexico regarding substance abuse. Santa Fe County has not added a residential treatment program to their community in over 15 years. Please strongly consider the swift, final approval for the permitted use of Shadow Mountain Recovery’s application.
