The Sandy Hook Promise commercial needs to be removed immediately due to the heavy toll of fear it could place on our children. Our children are put in school to focus and learn not to think about the what if. Yes crime in schools have became more of the norm these days but I believe this commercial could do more harm to a child’s mental than the good. My children and I watched this advertisement appear on our tv at least 10 times yesterday and I could see the fear in their eyes more and more each time. I truly understand the message but I believe it’s our job as parents to have these talks with our kids and give them the message not the job of anyone else. The advertisement was just to much for a child’s eyes with the jumping out of the window, the blood, and especially the ending with the tears and text message to mom.
