A planning application has been submitted to build 16 dwellings including 14 4-bedroom, 3-storey houses on a Site of Local Importance to Nature Conservation, land adjacent to 2 Sean Dolan Close and behind Admirals Way. The land is home to an abundance of mature trees and wildlife including birds such as green and great-spotted woodpeckers, foxes, and legally protected species including bats and badgers. The acceptance of this application would destroy this beautiful, peaceful green space and be replaced with yet more towering buildings. The land Mr Bhamra owns borders Rowley Regis Hospital and if this application is accepted it is likely to be the first of many developments on this land and could result in the destruction of 4000 hectares of woodland. A care home is being built opposite Rowley Regis Crematorium, the crematorium is being extended on green space and a declined planning application to build on a further SLINC on the opposite side of Sean Dolan Close has been appealed. There are more birds of woodland on the red list than of any other habitat and we cannot afford to lose more. 

As well as the above, this development will also create more traffic and congestion, affect the amenity for current residents- many of whom will be greatly overlooked by these properties- the sound of birdsong replaced with noise, and in increase in pollution and added pressure on local services.

The space is so precious to myself, the residents on and around Sean Dolan Close and the wildlife that it is home to. The preservation of green space is a matter very close to my heart and I would be so grateful for affected residents and like-minded people to sign this petition, be nature's voice and help us save this land.
