The Issue

Casa Mia Restaurant on the Wood Green Road have applied for Planning Permission to erect two large Landscape Digital Screens, one on the south and the other on the north elevation of their building. The screens will be visible to traffic travelling in either direction to and from Junction 9 of the M6. Casa Mia is situated on the cross-roads with Myvod Road and the junction is controlled by traffic lights.  This is the busiest highway into and out of Wednesbury town centre with a constant stream of HGV vehicles to and from the Motorway.  There are three  schools in the near vicinity of this junction and at certain times of the day the area is flooded with youngsters a vast majority of which use the traffic lightsystem to cross the main roads. There is great concern that drivers will be distracted from the traffic lights and with youngsters teaming out of three local schools who flood into the roadway at certain points and weave among waiting vehicles there is a fatality waiting to happen.
