Hi Guys,
Yesterday, we met with the San Ramon city manager and transportation manager. They told us that they want San Ramon to STOP the process on the Norris/Executive Parkway HOV EIR, that San Ramon no longer wants to pursue this project, and that San Ramon would formally indicate to CCTA that San Ramon wants to stop the EIR process and HOV project. The plan is to put this proposal as an agenda item on the Tuesday City Council meeting, and to have the city council members vote on this. The city council needs to vote affirmative on this, for this proposal to move forward.
The city manager did raise an issue. There is a congestion problem between I-680S and Bollinger, and San Ramon would like to propose to CCTA that CCTA initiate research as to how to alleviate this congestion. I asked if there was anything about this proposal that would effect the neighborhoods in San Ramon, they said most likely not, although some of the businesses in that immediate vicinity might be affected.
I'll post the text of the agenda item when it becomes available. We may be seeing a light at the end of the tunnel!!
Andrew
