Uniform Graduation Robes

Uniform Graduation Robes
The Issue
At San Marcos High School in San Marcos, California, Honor Roll and non-Honor Roll students wear different color robes at graduation (silver for Honor students with a gpa of 3.75 or higher, blue for non-Honors). This separates the student body, and creates an divided atmosphere at graduation. Graduation robes should be a uniform color for the whole student body, with a silver cord being offered to Honors students so their achievements are still recognized. This action will hopefully put an end to the feeling of exclusion. Graduation itself is a joyful occasion and should not be overshadowed by the academic comparison of students.
