The San Jose Planning Commission is meeting tonight at 6:30 at City Hall in the City Council Chamber. You can get free parking validation if you park in the garage underneath City Hall on 6th St between Santa Clara and San Fernando. Please attend and support your neighborhood and neighbors. The Planning Commission cannot issue a Conditional Use Project if it endangers public safety. The research the city is using actually shows that small and medium size supportive housing facilities have a limited impact, but large facilities (greater than 50) significantly increase crimes. Ray Bramson, from the city knows this. I've been in contact with him. Our City Councilman Tam Nguyen initially supported this project then told a group of concerned neighbors he opposed it last week. He refused to return the reporter's call yesterday and has not publicly opposed it. We need our neighborhoods to demand common sense policies that won't endanger our safety.
