Please help us convince SD Unified to keep its Early Childhood Special Education program! The ECSE program that provides critical early intervention to children with special needs is scheduled to be severely cut in the 2020-21 school year. This can affect you or someone you know.

Unless we act fast, dozens of locally run classes are going to be discontinued.

We need to remind SD Unified that in addition to helping our special kids, this program SAVES MONEY! Studies show that early intervention with special needs kids means less money spent on more expensive intervention as the children age. Thus, if these cuts aren't stopped, it will not only hurt children who need help, it will likely increase costs in the short run (as more kids will need to be bused to non-local schools) and in the long run (as more money will need to be spent on older children who didn't receive the benefit of early intervention.)
