Implement noise abatement measures at Darnall Charter School

Already noise from the Darnall Charter School and HeadStart Program limits 120 homeowners from the free enjoyment of their homes. The schools are located within close proximity to 120 homeowners at Sunrise Point. The noise is so loud and persistent throughout the day, M-F from 8am sometimes up to sundown, that windows must be kept shut or the resident must endure the constant screaming, school bells, loud music and loudspeaker announcements coming from the two schools. It is impossible to enjoy an outdoor patio during these hours.
Now it appears that the San Diego Unified School District has approved funds for an expansion project to include a soccer field in very close proximity to the 5985, 5990 and 5995 Dandridge Buildings and 3955 Faircross Building of Sunrise Point Condominiums. It is widely felt that this would affect home values negatively.
The residents are seeking simple sound abatement measures now and more complex measures to be built into the expansion project. The homeowners seek an environmental impact study and consideration of removing the soccer field from this location. Perhaps soccer could be played at a local park rather than on school grounds. An alternative solution is a sound abatement screen/wall around the playground areas of the school.
