Vote No on Niagara Water Bottling Plant in San Antonio

Vote No on Niagara Water Bottling Plant in San Antonio

The Issue

SAN ANTONIO LISTEN and TELL CITY COUNCIL To VOTE NO on SELLING our WATER to NIAGARA WATER BOTTLING COMPANY.

The Niagara Water Bottling company, a huge bottling company based out of California, has already been APPROVED for zoning in south San Antonio in Brooks City Base. City Council has not voted yet to allow the new business to start building as there has been very little information surrounding it. They will vote in two months and we need to help them make the right decision. The important factor here is water conservation.

In October 8, 2014- San Antonio just spent $3.4 billion to conserve, and decrease dependency on Edwards Aquifer by creating a 142 mile Pipeline to pump water to our city.

It is a fact that we are a drought prone city and the city knows this because in October 2014, they have approved and spent "..$3.4 billion on 142-mile water pipeline, known as the Vista Ridge Water Supply Project, that would transport 16.3 billion gallons of water annually from Burleson County, east of Austin, to San Antonio. It is expected to increase SAWS customers rate by as much as 17%. Council members said the water project, perhaps the largest in the city's history, will help diversify the local supply, relieve dependence on the Edwards Aquifer and expand the amount of water available during a drought by up to 20 percent. " -shuddleston@express-news.net

San Antonio is 100% positive that we are running low on water and cannot sustain our growing population, and have taken these expensive measures.

SAWS Customers will paying at rate 17% Higher because of needed pipeline, and now we want to sell the water we needed to conserve so badly?

Now less than a year later, there may a possibility of selling our water because Niagara needs a new water source since California's drought can no longer SUSTAIN their wasteful demand.  What happened to the factory and jobs there? When drought hits us again, and it absolutely will, is Niagara going to leave San Antonio and the jobs it created?
