Since Android 12 OneUi 4.0 update, the camera app is so sluggish that sometimes it cannot be used on the Galaxy S20 FE (Both Exynos and Snapdragon variants) and Galaxy S21 FE (Exynos variant).

Opening the camera app on those devices, it's possible to perceive how sluggish the experience is: 1-2 fps viewfinder, slow transitions between modes, etc... Totally unacceptable on flagship-level devices.

To make things worse, since OneUI 5.1 Android 13, the Super Slow-Motion feature isn't working at all! freezing the phone and launcher freezing too.

Taking a couple of pictures would KILL all the background processes (which is terrible in case you're capturing some picture to send through the web-browser, for instance). Plus, sometimes the OneUI launcher itself resets and takes about 10 seconds for the phone to be usable again.

TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

So dear, Samsung: S20 FE e S21 FE brought a lot of people into Samsung ecosystem (including myself). Samsung has been a pretty bad reputation while it comes to performance on their devices, since the so-hated TouchWiz UI. Given the amazing S20 FE and S21 FE capabilities and overall performance and camera quality, it's a shame such great device to have such slow camera performance.

AND NO, it's not a hardware or isolated case: There're a lot of people reporting the same issues, and "clearing the cache partition and app data" don't solve anything. Here's some reports:
