Compensation for Galaxy Note 7 Owners

On September 14, 2016, Samsung and the U.S. CPSC issued a recall of the Note 7 phone "due to serious fire and burn hazards." Due to Samsungs delay in involving the CPSC, it caused substantial issues regarding the exchange of the replacement phones. Towards the end of September both Samsung and the CPSC authorized "replacement" Note 7 phones for exchange that were deemed "safe".  

However the "safe" Note 7 phone have also experienced "serious fire and burn hazards" which has resulted in Samsung suspending production of the Note 7, and requesting consumers to return them for an exchange to another device and/or brand.

Due to this issue, it has again caused significant loss of time and money on the part of the consumer to ensure their safety and to replace the faulty devices. This also forces the consumer into a downgraded phone that they don't want. In some instances the consumer is locked into said downgrade for 2 years. We (All Note 7 customers) formally request the following compensation from Samsung for said losses:

1. Those who return the Note 7 for either an S7 or S7 Edge, Samsung will provide us with a $1000 gift card..

2. Those who have returned the Note 7 but switch to another brand will receive a $250 gift card.

3. Those who pre-ordered but did not receive their Note 7 will receive a $250 gift card.

This solves multiple things. We get compensated for your failure and our forced downgrade. It gives us, the owner of a N7, the ability to purchase the next S series device or Note for free. It allows us to purchase accessories such as screen protectors and cases for said downgrade or future phone purchase. It also encourages users to stay with Samsung, thus lessening the impact the N7 recall will have.
